Rome, Italy. 2nd International Forum on ApitherapyApimondia, the Italian Beekeepers' Federation and the Honey Research Centre of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" are pleased to invite you to the 2nd International Forum on Apitherapy "APIMEDICA and APIQUALITY 2008" in Villa Mondragone Congress Centre, Rome, Italy, from The Forum aims at highlighting the health benefits of bee products by demonstrating their properties, the minimum number of bioactive compounds having a pharmacological activity, the reproducibility of their effect in the various diseases and the mechanism of action at biological level. Moreover, quality bee products should be residue-free.

North AmericaDue to the enormous success of National Pollinator Week 2007, officially declared by the U.S. Senate (S.Res. 580) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Pollinator Partnership has received requests from all over the continent to expand on this year's festivities and events. The 55th Annual Beaverlodge Beekeepers' Field Day will be held on Friday June 20, 2008 at the Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada Research Farm in Beaverlodge, Alberta.

The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will include outdoor demonstrations as well as talks from professionals on the latest findings in bee research. Also in attendance will be Provincial Apiculturalists and representatives from the Canadian Honey Council, the Alberta Beekeepers' Commission and the Alberta Honey Producers' Cooperative.

Don't miss the FREE noon BBQ sponsored by honey industry members.

Second Annual Langley Symposium Coming this Fall
Mark September 27 on Your Calendars!
The Langley Bee Division will be doing another fall symposium this year. It is to be held at Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm, Country Store and Meadery again. Confirmed speakers so far are BC Provincial Apiculturist Paul Van Westendorp, Leonard Foster from UBC, Steven Pernal from Beaverlodge, and a speaker from Pherotech. Others TBA.
