Nitrofuran tainted IMPORTED BLENDED HONEY RECALLS The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued three bulletins pertaining to this issue over the past month, the most recent being April 8th, 2004. Currently all of the recalled lots contain either Argentinean or Turkish imported honey, usually blended with either Canadian or Australian honey. There is a review underway concerning Canadian honey labelling laws that allow imports and blends alike to use the term "CANADA NO. 1" as this terminology refers to grade and not origin. For in depth information regarding these recalls and what Nitrofurans are go to the CFIA web site. http://www.inspection.gc.ca/
