Package Bee Prohibition extended
The regulatory amendment to the Health of Animals Regulations allowing apiculturists to access honeybee queens from the continental USA was signed into law May 19, 2004.
Based on the CFIA risk assessment the importation applies only to queens and does not include package bees. The prohibition order will extend until December 2006.
